Affenpinscher is named after the German word Affen (monkey). It has large, dark eyes, protruding jaw with a charming underbite and a straggly beard who stands out from the face. Affenpinscher is originally from Germany and there are now not so many of this little miniature dogs.

Height at the withers is between 25-30 cm and weight varies between 3 and 6 kilograms. Height should be approximately equal to the height at the withers, giving a square appearance.

The coat is black and rough. In the United States are permissible with colored affenpinschrar, you can find wheat-colored, brown, red and gray. In FCI countries, where Sweden is included, it is allowed to register affenpinschrar with colors other than black, but it is disqualifying for exhibitions.

Mentality Affenpinscher is an alert and happy little dog. It is very true to his family and friends. The take themselves very seriously, and is very keen to learn new things. Because of its size, it fits well in both the apartment and the country. But like all dogs they like go for walks  and especially to be with family.

A loyal Affenpinscher loves "his" flock "and runs normally not removed but remains around her master and mistress even outdoors. It is satisfied and happy as long as they can stay where the family is.
